Checking/validation of PDFs for accessibility
can be done one file at a time - for example with:
But if it concerns large amounts of PDF files
it will not work with manual handling
- it will take an unreasonable amount of time
and be very costly.
Then automation is required instead - with axesPDF.
axesPAC builds on the same trusted
checking routines as PAC, but allows you to
check large numbers of PDF documents
automatically and at scale.
Unlike PAC, axesPAC requires a
license key (API Key) from axes4.
axesPAC is available in two editions:
axesPAC On-Premise / SDKRuns on your infrastructure as a local web service.
If you use the .NET platform,
you can also integrate axes4 Matterhorn checks
directly into your own software by using
the axesPAC SDK.

General note:
For a final accessibility assessment, however,
further checks are required that only a human
can perform; for example, whether the sequence of
elements is correct, the tags correspond to the visually
recognizable semantics, or alternative texts adequatel
reflect the core message of an image.
System Requirements
- axesPAC requires the .NET8 Hosting Bundle.
You can download it from
Microsoft's Download .NET. page.
- axesPAC runs on all Windows versions
on which the .NET 8 Hosting Bundle run.
- axesPAC runs on all Linux versions
on which the .NET 8 Hosting Bundle run.
However, this is not tested by axes4.
Please contact us if you want to
run axesPAC on Linux.
Software
- axesPAC On-Premise is provided as a ZIP file.
You can unpack the ZIP file and copy it to
a suitable location on your server.
