PDF/UA- and WCAG-compliant accessible PDF documents
directly from Microsoft PowerPoint
with a few clicks
axesSlide creates accessible PDF documents
directly from Microsoft PowerPoint.
Giving everyone access to the information during and after the presentations.

Why axesSlide?
PowerPoint presentations have become an
integral part of everyday work and university life;
millions of PowerPoint presentations are created every day.
So there are countless creators of presentations and at least
as many people who hear and see these presentations.
For them axesSlide easily creates accessible PDF documents
from your PowerPoint presentations ‒ with just a few clicks.
Advantages of axesSlide

axesSlide automates accessibility during the actual
PDF conversion/export to a PDF/UA compliant document.

axesSlide For All
- Comes with Accessible User Interface
Accessible PDFs enable everyone to have
equal access to digital information.
However, true inclusion also means that everyone
is able to create such accessible documents.
axesSlide enables users with disabilities to
create accessible PDF documents with ease.
The user interface has been designed/implemented
barrier-free together with those affected and
according to the highest standards and has been
confirmed as barrier-free by the BITV software test.

Why not create your next PowerPoint-presentation
as an accessible PDF document?
We promise you: it's really easy!
axesSlide Free Trial
You can use axesSlide without activation as a trial
with some restrictions like watermark on every page,
an annotation on the first page and random color
replacement of characters.
For a final accessibility assessment, however,
further checks are required that only a human can perform;
for example, whether the sequence of elements is correct,
the tags correspond to the visually recognizable semantics,
or alternative texts adequately reflect
the core message of an image.

What axesSlide Does
The motto "Hide complexity" also applies to axesSlide:
The magic happens in the background
during the creation of the accessible PDF document
The magic happens in secret:
you trigger the automated PDF/UA creation,
axesSlide analyzes the document structure,
evaluates additional data, and uses the information
to create a lean structure tree in the PDF.
Carries out its own structural analysis
MS PowerPoint does not provide enough information
about the internal technical structure of your presentation.
axesSlide analyses the technical structure to capture
as much structural information as possible.
Prevents typical conversion errors
Many of the technical accessibility requirements of
a PDF are the responsibility of the software.
axesSlide covers all of the requirements
that can be fulfilled automatically.
Creates a clean tag tree in the PDF
An incorrect or bloated tag tree
can make a document inaccessible.
axesSlide creates a clean, lean PDF tag tree.
Creates reliable additional information
Assistive technologies such as screen readers
require reliable additional information.
axesSlide reminds you to add required settings,
such as enter a suitable document title and
specify the basic language of the document.
axesSlide creates this information to enable
equal access for all to PDF documents content.
Optional:
Accessibility and archivability
do not have to be contradictory
In addition to PDF/UA compliance,
you can with axesSlide also create
an archivable PDF according to
the ISO Standard PDF/A:
PDF/A is the file format for long-term
archiving of digital documents.
PDF/A ensures that digital documents are readable,
presentable and reusable in the long run.
PDF/A is available in several conformity levels:
- level a (Accessible)
- level b (Basic)
- level u (Unicode)
Level a is the highest level.
It contains the other levels and
requires the availability of tags.
Picture:
Relationship between PDF/A-a (a = Accessible) and PDF/UA.
PDF/A-b (Basic) and PDF/A-u (Unicode)
do not require a tag structure.
axesSlide creates normally a document
that conforms to PDF/A-2a.
Only if there are characters available which
are not mappable to Unicode then axesSlide
creates a document that conforms to PDF/A-2b,
which nevertheless contains the complete
logical structure tree.
The number "2" in PDF/A-2a or PDF/A-2b
stands for PDF-Version 1.7
